Petrichor, designed by Kristina Chan and Cristina Morbi

Has early pregnancy loss been an issue that has touched you or someone close to you?

Amber CPC in partnership with idverde and with the support of the London Borough of Bromley opened a Baby Memorial Garden in Chislehurst Cemetery in June 2025.

The garden’s vision is to give people who have lost babies prior to 24 weeks of pregnancy a focus for their grief and remembrance. We hope the calm and peace of the garden will be helpful to them, however early the loss and for whatever reason, whether it be miscarriage, termination, failed IVF or even the loss of the dream of parenthood.

The garden, which has been shaped by input from a number of people who have lost babies, includes:

• A beautiful sculpture designed especially for the garden, providing a focus for remembrance.

• New plants and flowers to bring colour and enhance the natural environment, while also increasing biodiversity in the Cemetery.

• Benches to sit on in a secluded, dedicated location to give some privacy and which may help people connect with others experiencing similar grief.

• Six bee posts with plaques in memory of those little ones lost. If you would like to have a plaque in the garden engraved, please contact our administrator Gina at gina@amberpregnancy.com

This space, the first of its kind in the Borough, provides a calm, peaceful and green area for families and individuals to remember and grieve their loss - a place open to all local people.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped bring the dream of this garden to life. Thanks to everyone who donated and special thanks go to the Chislehurst Society, National Lottery and Jubilee Parks Fund (London Borough of Bromley) for their generous grants.
